This program follows the story of Belfast's historic quilt as told by Megan Pinette, of Belfast Historical Society and Pam Weeks, curator of the New England Quilt Museum. The flag quilt was made in Belfast Maine and sent to Union soldiers during the Civil War.

Rededication ceremony on November 11,2008 of the memorial to the USS Portland in Portland, Maine. The memorial underwent $150,000 of repairs and restoration. Mary Doughty,who christened the ship as a young girl in 1932 returned to re-christen the ship at the ceremony.

More than 100 women who either worked or were the daughters and relatives of women who worked as welders in the South Portland Shipyards were paid tribute as representatives of the US Postal Service unvieled it's "Rosie the Riveter" stamp at the South Portland Performing Arts Center".
